1. Acceptance

By accessing or using StatementScribe, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Service description

StatementScribe provides tools that convert bank statements and related documents into structured formats (e.g., Excel/CSV) for reconciliation and analysis. You are responsible for reviewing outputs for accuracy and suitability.

3. Accounts & access

You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for maintaining the confidentiality of any access links or codes.

4. Acceptable use

• Do not upload unlawful or unauthorized content.
• Do not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the service.
• Do not use the service to violate privacy or confidentiality.
• Do not use the service to transmit malware or harmful code.

5. Customer content

You retain ownership of your documents and content. You grant us a limited license to process your documents solely to provide the service. We do not sell your documents or transaction data.

6. Data handling & security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. Files are processed to generate outputs and are deleted shortly after processing where feasible. Metadata and operational logs may be retained for billing, fraud prevention, and support.

7. Third-party services

We use third-party providers for hosting, email delivery, analytics, payments, and AI/ML processing. Your use of the service acknowledges that data may be processed by these providers solely to deliver the service.

8. Billing

Paid plans are billed in advance via our payment provider. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly stated.

9. No advice

StatementScribe does not provide legal, tax, or accounting advice. You are responsible for compliance and professional review of outputs.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation or that outputs will be fully accurate for all documents or bank formats.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StatementScribe and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from use of the service.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StatementScribe from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms are violated or if required by law.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
